IAPA International announces that collaboration talks to potentially merge with Allinial Global have ceased.
Following discussions at the recent IAPA International Conference in Rio, the IAPA membership agreed (with 78% of the vote), to continue merger discussions only if Allinial Global approved several additional conditions to the proposed merger document. On 2 November, Allinial Global advised IAPA that these conditions would not be accepted and as a result discussions will no longer continue.
Stephen Hamlet, IAPA CEO, said “IAPA is a fantastic association with some 200 member firms in 70 countries worldwide. Our members are passionate about the association and are keen to preserve the strong culture and ethos that has been built over the last 35+ years, across all 4 regions. IAPA needs to strengthen its coverage in the USA and the robust presence of Allinial Global firms in this region complemented our growth strategy very well. However, being a membership driven organisation, all decisions must be made in the best interests of our members. It became clear that a middle ground between what IAPA members seek and what Allinial Global wants, was simply not achievable. We will therefore continue to work hard and grow our association organically or otherwise, and I look forward to pursing other opportunities to enhance the association and drive IAPA forward.”
