IAPA held its first Marketing forum in Amsterdam on Friday 19 February.
This followed the release earlier this year of a brand new website and marketing pack for IAPA members, helping them market and promote their firms, in particular by demonstrating their international reach through the IAPA association.
IAPA’s CEO, Stephen Hamlet, opened proceedings by reminding members of how they should be differentiating themselves from competitors by promoting all the benefits afforded to them by their IAPA membership. Stephen also demonstrated the new IAPA website and marketing pack, which contained a variety of promotional material that could be adopted into the marketing literature of their own individual practices.
The group were then treated to the experiences of Martin Bissett, of the Upward Spiral Partnership. Martin coached delegates through various marketing topics, including discussing with them their greatest challenges, and the potential ways to overcome these. There was also a look at some marketing videos around the world, used as case studies as to how to achieve your goals through successful video promotion, and ended the day talking about best practices around the world.
With networking opportunities throughout the day, delegates were able to learn from each other, leaving the meeting with a number of ideas and suggestions to take away and explore for successful marketing of their individual practices.
Feedback from the sessions has been excellent and IAPA hopes to run similar forums in the future.
Quotes from participants are below. Additionally, Becky Lewis representing member firm Wilkins Kennedy, posted an excellent blog about the event, highlighting the value of these one-day, IAPA events. Read the blog here: http://news.wilkinskennedy.com/?p=2136
Delegate quotes:
‘We are planning new marketing activities, so the exchange of experience was very important to us. Particularly interesting to hear what activities or measures have been successful from our colleagues.’
‘Martin Bissett was an excellent coach – very lively and offered practical advice.’
‘I thought Martin Bissett was an excellent speaker, very engaging. He did well to make a 6 hour session feel like 25 minutes (!) and it really got me thinking about some of our own marketing techniques.’
